Aggro
means the amount of aggression a computer controlled unit has towards a certain target, the target with the highest aggro rate will be attacked.

means bad manners or bad mannered.
bot
is the lane on the bottom of the map, can also be called the Dire hardlane and Radiant easylane.
CD
means cool down, referring to the time in which spells can be cast.

are the basic items a hero needs to be effective.

means defend.
Deny
is the act of denying gold and experience to the enemy team's heroes.
DPS
means damage per second or the amount of basic attack damage a hero does.
Dirtide
is a Halloween event hosted by Valve that caused a backlash from the community in 2013 after it had been announced that there was no Diretide event that year. Users spammed the Facebook page of US official, i.e. President Obama, and caused DotA's Metacritic score to plummet from 9.0/10 to a low of 4.0/10.
Easylane

EZ
means easy, i.e. ez game ez life.
Farm
is the act of quickly obtaining gold and experience, especially when referring to a position 1 carry.
Farmed
means to have many expensive items from either killing enemies or creeps, especially when comparing one's to the other players' items.
Flaming
means to chew out a teammate for making a mistake, usually to an overly excessive amount.
Focus
means to attack one target, especially in a teamfight.
gank
means to stealthily attack and quickly kill an enemy. Normally done in the early game when players are still in the lane with little to no expensive items.
GGWP
means Good Game, Well Played.
Harass
means to attack an enemy hero, as to deny them experience and gold.
Hardlane

Jungle
is the area in between lane that is used by some heroes to gain experience and gold instead of fighting in a lane.
Juke
is the act of tricking an enemy by running through tricky areas, exceptionally helpful when running from certain death.
Kiting
is the act of forcing the enemy to be unable to attack by being just out of their vision range.
Meta
is the current style of play, much like how certain clothes go in and out of style.

Micro
is the ability to control two or more units at once.
Mid
is the middle lane.
Miss
means missing, sometimes "SS" is also used.
Noob
is a new player or somebody lacking skill.
Nuke
mean to do a lot of damage in a short amount of time.
Offlane

OOM
means out of mana.
Orb Walk
is the act of walking and attacking effectively, a form of kiting.
Proc
means the rate at which a random event will activate.
Pull
means to "pull" neutral creeps from a jungle camp at a certain time so that the population will double in that camp.
Push
means to "push" friendly creeps toward the enemy ancient by killing enemy creeps.
Rax

Re
means returned.
Roshan
is the "Boss" of DotA. By killing him each friendly player receives 200 gold and one player may revive from death once within six minutes of his death.
Safelane

Spam
means to repeatedly press, especially when spamming moves.
Stack
is the act of doubling the population of a neutral creep camp by pulling.
Support
is the hero position that has moves to help their teammates rather than more than damage intensive spells.
TOp
is the lane on the top portion of the map, also called the hardlane for Radiant and the easylane for Dire.
Tp
means teleport, which is done by activating a TP Scroll and choosing a building to teleport to.
Trilane
is the composition of heroes in a special formation. Three heroes in the easy lane, one hero in the midlane, and one in the hardlane.
Ult
is the special move of a hero, normally their most important spell and highest mana cost spell.
Woods
is the space between lanes, can be called Jungle.
Wipe
means for an entire team to die, also called a teamwipe.
